The A-frame cabins glowing at blue hour among the trees

Events

Weddings, corporate retreats, reunions, and celebrations, the entire 2.4-acre lakefront property, three A-frame cabins, and room for up to 50 guests by day, with overnight accommodation for 30. Private, gated, and exclusively yours.

Say it by the water

Weddings & Elopements

Exchange vows at the shoreline with Douglas firs rising behind you and Cowichan Lake stretching out ahead, no venue, no crowd, just the people who matter on 2.4 private acres.

Aera is built for intimate weddings and elopements of up to 50 guests: ceremony at the water, dinner under the trees, and the entire property to yourselves for the weekend. Up to 30 of your party stay on site, the Main Cabin hosts the core crew while Cabins 1 & 2 give family or friends their own quiet corners.

  • Ceremonies and receptions up to 50 guests, exclusively yours
  • On-site accommodation for up to 30 of the wedding party
  • Private dock and shoreline for photos at golden hour
  • Multi-night weekends, not four-hour venue slots

Offsites that actually reset the team

Corporate Retreats & Offsites

The best strategy conversations happen away from the boardroom. Bring the team to the lake: mornings around the long table, afternoons on the water, evenings by the outdoor fireplaces with the phones face down.

Three cabins mean natural breakout spaces, leadership in one cabin, workshops in another, with the dock and shoreline as the all-hands room. Fast Wi-Fi when you need it; a compelling reason to ignore it when you don’t.

  • Sleeps up to 30 across three cabins, day offsites up to 50
  • Natural breakout spaces and one shared shoreline
  • Chef’s kitchen in the Main Cabin for group meals or private catering
  • An easy drive from Victoria and Nanaimo, no flights, no logistics

Family Reunions

The rare reunion setup where everyone actually wants to come back next year: each household gets its own cabin, hot tub, and morning routine, and everyone gathers at the dock, the outdoor fireplaces, or the long table when it’s time to be together.

Grandparents settle into the Main Cabin’s main-floor comfort, kids run the forest paths between cabins, and the lake does the entertaining: swimming off the dock all summer, paddleboarding at dawn, loons calling at dusk.

  • Every generation gets private space, no drawing straws for bedrooms
  • Sleeps up to 30 across 13 bedrooms in three cabins
  • Gated, private grounds where kids can roam
  • The warmest swimming lake on Vancouver Island, off your own dock

Mark the moment properly

Milestone Celebrations

Big birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, bachelorette and bachelor weekends, the milestones that deserve more than a restaurant reservation. Take the whole property and give the occasion room to breathe.

Long dinners that drift from the table to the fire, a champagne toast on the dock, hot tubs under the stars, and nobody calling a ride home, everyone just walks up the path to their cabin.

  • Whole-property weekends, 30 overnight, day celebrations up to 50
  • Private catering available for dinners worth remembering
  • Hot tubs at every cabin, outdoor fireplaces for late nights
  • Quiet, gated privacy, celebrate without an audience

The forest does half the work

Wellness & Creative Retreats

Yoga on the deck as the mist lifts off the lake, cold plunges from the private dock, hot tub recovery, and the kind of deep quiet that’s become the scarcest luxury of all. For retreat leaders, Aera is a turnkey venue: your group stays together, eats together, and practices surrounded by forest.

Writers’ rooms, artist residencies, and creative intensives thrive here for the same reason, days with no interruptions, and a landscape that keeps refilling the well.

  • Turnkey venue for hosted retreats up to 30 participants
  • Decks and shoreline for practice; forest trails between sessions
  • Cold plunge off the dock, hot tubs for recovery
  • Deep quiet on a gated 2.4-acre property
